Garmin Cycling GPS Units Compared
A comparison of Garmin's cycling-specific GPS units. Be aware that although the newest units come with basemaps, you need to purchase additional software (about $90) to get the detail you'll want, making them very pricey!
Garmin eTrex Legend HCx and Garmin eTrex Summit HCx
The Legend and Summit are excellent alternatives to expensive cycling-specific GPS units.  Although the list prices is $250 and $300, you can get them deeply discounted if you watch for them. WalMart online often has great prices (Click here for Walmart price) Note: Don't confuse HCx model with older HC model. These units also need additional software to get the highest level of detail.
